The Traffic Division is a special service support function of the Wallingford Police Department staffed with a Division Supervisor, who is a Sergeant, and uniformed officers.

Officers assigned to the Traffic Division investigate fatal and serious injury motor vehicle collisions on a 24/7 basis. The Traffic Division conducts proactive selective enforcement activities, as well D.U.I., Click-It-or-Ticket, and Distracted Driving Enforcement campaigns.

The Traffic Division Supervisor is responsible for managing the agency’s fleet of vehicles, speed measuring devices, wrecker rotation system, and all Traffic Maintenance operations, which include the supervision of Traffic Maintenance staff and the responsibilities associated with Town-owned traffic control devices.
