The Community Impact Unit is a special service support function of the Wallingford Police Department staffed by a Unit Supervisor, who is a Sergeant, and assigned officers.

Responsibilities of the Unit Primarily Include:

  • Special investigations assigned by the Administration
  • The School Officer Program and public schools’ liaison with respect to safety matters
  • Crime prevention programs
  • Block watch programs
  • Community relations initiatives

Community relations initiatives may include non-enforcement based activities that promote positive, trust-building partnerships and to both foster and strengthen the police-community relationship.
