The Professional Standards and Training Division is a special service support function of the Wallingford Police Department staffed with a Division Commander, who is a Captain, a Training Officer, an Investigator and civilian staff. It is anticipated that this division will be fully operational by the beginning of 2023. 

The Primary Responsibilities of this Division Include:

  • Maintenance of the Agency’s P.O.S.T. Tier III accreditation
  • Internal Affairs investigations
  • Coordinating new employee training and orientation, police officer in-service training, and continual P.O.S.T.-mandated review training
