The Communications Center is an operational function of the Wallingford Police Department and shall consist of a number of civilian dispatchers.

The Communications Center’s primary function is the intake of all public safety calls for service and the dispatching of the appropriate combination of resources from police, fire and emergency medical services.
The Communications Center has three shifts that are staffed twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
